Birchwood Cottage is ideally situated to explore the Highlands of Scotland, from the scenery and history of glens and castles to dolphins and porpoises in the Moray Firth. Cromarty and Inverness are a short drive away.



Buzzards, Woodpeckers and Red Kite are common in the area, while just across the A9 is the Moray Firth Dolphin Centre. A short drive away is the Black Isle Wildlife Park and Chanonry Point the favourite Dolphin spotting area in the Moray Firth.



Scotland is the home of golf and the local area has plenty to offer for players of all abilities, from Scottish Open hosts Castle Stuart to a family friendly nine holes.


Scotland is famous for whisky and there are several distilleries close by which offer tours such as Glen Ord Distillery, Tomatin and Dalmore. If whisky isn't your cup of tea then the Black Isle Brewery is just up the road too!
